The American Legion came to Taneytown, MD in 1921 in the form of Hesson-Snider Post #59 and after disbanding for a few years reorganized as Hesson-Snider Post 120 on December 11, 1935. Hesson-Snider Post 120 is located at 9 Broad Street and is the post home of 700+ people who are members of the Ameican Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion. For more than 77 years they have not abandonded the four pillars upon which we were founded: a strong national security, education and employment of veterans, the wholesome development of our nations' youth and a one hundred-percent Americanism. Our American Legion Post has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.
